Small Business Majority is doing more than any other organization to educate and prepare small business owners about marketplace enrollment. From creating a comprehensive health coverage guide in both English and Spanish, to holding informational webinars and outreach events to talk with real small business owners about the exchanges, Small Business Majority is at the forefront of efforts to inform and assist small business owners about the healthcare law. Visit our calendar page to see a list of the numerous events and seminars we are holding to educate small business owners.
Small Business Majority and Kaiser Permanente released opinion polling that provides new insight into what small business owners in California want out of state health insurance exchanges. The polling found interest in a small business exchange is high, along with specific features in the exchange, including allowing employees to choose among multiple carriers and ensuring prevention and wellness programs are available. The survey also found awareness of the small business tax credits is low. Please click here for the full report on our research.

California Health Benefit Exchange
Small Business Majority released “Making California’s new healthcare exchange work for small businesses,” a report detailing our three-part SHOP forum series in Sacramento. Health insurance exchanges—and the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) in particular—are the most important element of healthcare reform for small businesses.
To help facilitate the SHOP design process, we hosted discussion forums in Sacramento during October, November and January. At each forum, a panel of experts spoke to business advocates, government staff, brokers and other stakeholders about major aspects to consider when setting up an exchange that can work for California small businesses.
