What if I’m self-employed?

If you’re self-employed, you have more health coverage options than you think. You can use the Individual Marketplace to find health coverage that fits your budget and meets your needs – you may actually qualify for financial assistance to lower your monthly premiums.  The Individual Marketplace allows you and your family to compare features of several plans side-by-side, all of which offer a full package of essential health benefits. You can see what your premium, out-of-pocket costs and deductibles will be before you enroll. You will not be denied coverage or charged more for a pre-existing health condition. If you currently have an individual insurance plan you bought for yourself, you may be able to switch to a Marketplace plan.

The Individual Marketplace is also available at Healthcare.gov, just click on the “Individuals and Families” link to get started.
